Mumbai, November 12, 2013: Datamatics Global Services Limited (DGSL) announced the winner of the first Dr. Lalit Kanodia Laureate Award for Technological Excellence in Market Research, in co-operation with the Market Research Society (MRSI) of India and European Society for Opinion and Marketing Research (ESOMAR). The Indian Readership Survey (IRS) Team from Nielsen achieved the award for pioneering the use of Dual Screen and Data Fusion Technology.
Judged by an independent jury comprising industry experts, the award recognizes innovations in the technical field that can help the Market Research industry. The Nielsen - IRS Team won the award for its innovative use of Dual Screen Computer Aided Personal Interview(DS-CAPI) methodology, which helped MR professionals in capturing real time location of the interviewer along with audio recordingintegration, interview and merging multiple data sources. This is the first year of the award given in the honour of Dr. Lalit S. Kanodia, the founder and Chairman of Datamatics Group of Companies, who is one of the pioneers in the Indian Software and OffshoreServices Industry. He founded Datamatics in 1975, prior to which he was instrumental in establishing Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in 1967. This award is also the first of its kind in India that saw a tremendous response in terms of the nominations received.
