less-than-truckload (LTL), truckload, distribution and consolidation, and logistics services. They provide consistent, reliable service to their customers enabling the speed of a just-in-time distribution facility. Their direct service area features nearly 179 terminals, delivering more than 26,000 shipments a day.

The client faced significant challenges with their onboarding processes, which were bogged down by manual, paper-heavy workflows. These inefficiencies led to delays that frustrated both employees and customers, making the onboarding experience cumbersome and time-consuming. The absence of streamlined systems created operational bottlenecks and hindered the ability to meet expectations effectively.

In addition, errors and delays disrupted the customer journey, preventing the delivery of a consistent and seamless experience. The client's reliance on legacy systems and disconnected data silos further compounded the problem, as the lack of real-time data synchronization caused operational slowdowns and limited insights, ultimately impacting their ability to make informed decisions and drive efficiency.

Solution

To address the client’s challenges, the customer onboarding application was modernized using Azure PaaS services.  Datamatics built a solution using a cloud-native architecture hosted on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), ensuring scalability, reliability, and high performance. Seamless integration was achieved through Azure API Management (APIM) with AS400 and EDW systems, enabling real-time updates of customer data and streamlining operational workflows.

Enhanced security measures were implemented to protect sensitive customer information. Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) was enabled using Azure Entra ID, while data encryption was applied both in transit and at rest to ensure robust protection. This modernization not only resolved inefficiencies but also delivered a smoother onboarding experience and real-time insights for better decision-making.
